Police in Nakuru on Thursday apprehended a suspect in connection with the killing of a Form Two student in Subukia Sub County.

Mary Wanjiru who was found strangled in Waseges Ward on Wednesday evening is believed to have been murdered by her uncle.

The deceased is said to have spent the day with her mother till around 3pm.

The mother left and it is suspected that her uncle took advantage and broke into their house.

According to area residents, the suspect was cornered by police at his house on Thursday night and reportedly confessed to the crime.

This is contrary to earlier suspicions that the girl might have been killed due to a love affair

The suspect will be arraigned on Friday.
