University Students Hold Hospital Hostage

The irate students, who were protesting killing of their colleague by a motorist on Saturday, accused the hospital of negligence leading to the victim’s death.

The students argued that the deceased, identified as Washington Mwangi, was not attended to by medics at the hospital leading to his untimely death.

This followed after the rioting students held demonstrations along the busy Uhuru Highway and University Way pelting stones to motorists and destroying property of unknown value.

They have vowed to continue with demonstrations along the University Way and Mamlaka Road until the university’s Chief Security Officer and Doctor resign.

The deceased was a third year student pursuing a degree in Medicine at the Chiromo campus.
