Uproar over potholes at Manda Airport in Lamu
Residents in Lamu County on Thursday raised complains over increased number of potholes on the Manda Airport runway.
According to them, the potholes impede movement of the plane during landing and take-off.
They also attribute reduced number of tourists to the dilapidated state of the airport runway.
Last week, a Nairobi-bound aircraft that was about to take off from the airport was delayed after its wheel got stuck in a pothole.
Passengers onboard the aircraft had to wait for half an hour as the airport workers tried to remove the plane’s left rear tyre from the hole.
