US Donates Key Forensic Equipment
The donation from the US government will help in gathering crucial evidence that will help in the prosecution of suspected criminals.
The donation was handed over by the United States through its ambassador Robert Codec to the Independent Policing Oversight Authority
While receiving the equipment, IPOA Chairman Macharia njeru said the equipment will now help the police to tackle crime.
Some of the equipment donated include gunshot residue evidence collection, suspect sexual assault evidence collection kits, post mortem DNA blood stain Card collection Kits and shoe print Lifting equipment.
Other gadgets include finger print kits and sexual assault swab drying racks.
According to the IPOA chairman Macharia Njeru, the equipment will reduce tampering of investigations.
He said some investigations had in the past been tampered with leading to cases being dismissed in the courts.
