Use your influence to mobilise new voters

Teachers in Bungoma County have been challenged to use their social influence to encourage residents register as the one-month period for IEBC to list new voters nears end.
Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Secretary for Bungoma County Ken Nganga told teachers that they cannot seat back while the area has failed to meet IEBC new voters targets.
Nganga who was addressing teachers at Kanduyi DEB Primary School during election of new leaders for Teachers Burial and Benevolent Fund in the county noted that teachers are opinion leaders in the society, therefore challenged them to use that power.
“I want to earnest urge you to please go out there and encourage many other people especially the youth particularly to go and take IDs and voters cards,” Said Nganga.
The teachers’ union boss in Bungoma County faulted the teachers of constantly lamenting of mistreatment by the government yet doing nothing to institute a regime that can take care of their needs.
