With nearly 30,000 deaths annually, cancer is a rapidly spreading disease in Kenya. But the high cost of diagnostic and treatment equipment means only a few hospitals, among them the Kenyatta National Hospital, have the relevant facilities. The consequence is that there is a long list of patients seeking treatment at the referral hospital.
Anne Mawathe, reports, the misery of waiting is compounded by the absence of basic amenities at KNH.
