VIDEO: Governor wa Iria in heated exchange with Senator Gitura

There was a heated exchange during this morning’s Senate Public Accounts Committee hearing between Murang’a Governor Mwangi wa Iria and Murang’a Senator Kembi Gitura.

Governor wa Iria differed sharply with Senator Gitura, with Wa Iria accusing Kembi Gitura of using the summons to intimidate him.

Following the development, committee chair Senator Anyang’ Nyong’o said that they will now take legal action against the governor for his hostile behavior.

The committee had previously directed that the governor be disciplined for not honouring summons.
