VIDEO: How terrorists entered dusitD2 hotel at 14 Riverside

Hours after President Uhuru Kenyatta emerged with a message to Kenyans that the attack on 14 Riverside Drive was over, questions still abound as to the audacity of the gunmen who took over control of the premises on Tuesday afternoon.

Police Inspector General Joseph Boinnet said the attack was coordinated as the terrorists began their onslaught by setting ablaze three vehicles at the I&M bank parking lot before moving to the dusitD2 complex.

CCTV footage from inside premises shows four attackers calmly walking towards the 14 Riverside building, heavily armed.

They are dressed in combat regalia and also don vests carrying ammunition.

One of the attackers stays behind and a fourth one joins them as he begins shooting indiscriminately at a car parked meters away.

It is not clear if the car had any occupants at the time of the shooting or what prompted them to start shooting in that direction.

The two later proceed into the building through the back entrance.

Another video shows the gunmen shooting inside the building but he is cut off from the frame as he moves further inside.

On Wednesday morning, President Kenyatta revealed that all the assailants had been killed by security forces who included a team from the Kenya Police, Kenya Army and Recce Squad.

He further confirmed that 14 people died at 14 Riverside and hundreds others were injured in the attack that was similar to that staged at Westgate mall on September 21, 2013.
