VIDEO: Joint Select Committee proposes changes to Elections Act

The joint parliamentary select committee has recommended radical changes to the elections act which if approved will see the deletion of the offence of corruptly inducing voters through food and refreshments. The committee also proposes to take away from IEBC the function of investigating and prosecuting electoral offences. And as Francis Gachuri reports, the noose could be tightened on politicians fond of hopping from one party to another, once they fail to clinch their party’s nomination tickets.
