Orie Rogo Manduli has come out guns blazing saying that Deputy President William Ruto should shelve his 2022 presidential ambitions.
Speaking on Citizen TV’s JKL show, Manduli, who is the first Kenyan woman to head the NGO council, said Kenyans just got out of a campaign period and are not interested in an individual’s political aspirations.

“Who is Ruto? He will never be president. He can get it from me, the Deputy President has been busy on a self-development mission and all of a sudden he wants to be president? He is feeling insecure,” she told Jeff Koinange during the show.
The former beauty queen, who is known for her unabating candor, further raised questions over Mr. Ruto’s assets and how he acquired them.
“When it’s all over he’ll tell us where all the money came from that bought all those hotels. And how many homes can you live in? I think he should not go around wasting time. We are not interested in who becomes the next president,” she added.
On the latest corruption scandal at the National Youth Service (NYS), Manduli criticized the judicial system terming it ‘sloppy’.
“I’m very very disappointed with the lawyers but more important I think (Chief Justice) Maraga is a good man and I’m asking him– please don’t allow judges to go crazy–do not allow the culprits to be protected,” she pleaded.
Interestingly, Manduli lauded the move by President Uhuru Kenyatta and Opposition leader Raila Odinga to call a truce and put aside their political differences.
