VIDEO: Sonko cries after election petition is dismissed
Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has today shown Kenyans that you don’t always have to raise the roof when celebrating.
Sometimes, especially when you were on the verge of losing a gubernatorial seat that you have occupied for barely six months you close the door, open your camera’s video link and cry to Jesus.
The Nairobi County boss shocked Kenyans when a video of a dressed down Sonko reduced to tears, while listening to a Kenyan gospel song playing with the caption; “Mimi najua MKOMBOZI wangu ANAISHI.” (I know my saviour lives.)
Sonko’s celebration came after the High Court dismissed a petition challenging his August 8, 2017 election.
Judge Msagha Mbogholi issued the ruling after the petitioners; Japheth Muroko and Zachaeus Okoth Oliech, made an application on Tuesday for leave to withdraw the election petition whose hearing was scheduled for January 8th to January 12, 2018.
While Sonko couldn’t help but share his moment with God, the one minute video received mixed reactions with Kenyans online.
