Vote for Jubilee candidates on August 8, DP Ruto urges Kirinyaga residents

Deputy President William Ruto has called on Kirinyaga residents to vote for Jubilee candidates in the August 8 elections.

Speaking at Kutus in Kirinyaga County on Wednesday, DP Ruto urged the residents to give President Uhuru Kenyatta a Jubilee team, from Governor to MCA, that will help him achieve the party’s manifesto in the next term.

The deputy president stated that Jubilee government led by President Uhuru Kenyatta had done a lot for Kenya and deserved another chance.

“President Uhuru Kenyatta has constructed 160 kilometers of road in Kirinyaga, ensured that no student pays examination fees, rolled out electricity connections in every part of the county with maternity fees waived. It is therefore prudent that we give President Kenyatta another term to continue with his development agenda.”

“It is also important to give President Kenyatta a Jubilee team, from the Governor, to Senator, Women Representative, MPs and Members of County Assembly,” he said amid cheers from the crowd.

He further stated that NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga has no moral authority to question Jubilee over corruption claiming that his entire campaign is being bankrolled by money looted from Kenyans.

“I heard our competitor (Raila Odinga) saying Jubilee is corrupt. I would like to tell Raila Odinga that he is in no position to speak about corruption because his campaign is being financed by cartels who have looted money from Kenyans,” said DP Ruto.

Jubilee team in Kirinyaga includes Anne Waiguru who is gunning for governor, Daniel Karaba, (Senate candidate) and Purity Ngirici (Women Representative candidates) among others.

In his speech, President Kenyatta said NASA had no agenda for Kenya saying their manifesto offered no solution to the challenges facing the country.

“I was waiting to hear what solutions our competitors have for the issues we are facing as a country, but it was evident that they do not have any. While we are trying to unite the country, they are busy trying to divide Kenyans along tribal lines,” said President Kenyatta.

He further reiterated a pledge he made during the Jubilee manifesto launch on Monday, that he would, from next year, ensure that every student who graduates from the University or Technical Training Institutes will get one-year internship fully paid for by the government, should he win re-election.

The President further noted: “In two weeks I will return for the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Thiba dam here in Mwea which will double the production of rice in Kenya.”

President Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto also made stops in Makutano, Sagana, Kagio, Wang’uru, Baricho, Kerugoya, Kianyaga and Ahiti-Ndomba drumming support for Jubilee party.
