Wabukala to Leaders, Stop Public Duels and Fight Corruption, Insecurity

He uttered this after attending a morning prayer service at St. Paul’s Church in Ojamii, Busia.

The clergy said that leaders are constantly in a war of words against each other, adding that corruption needs to be fought tactically and that leaders need not resolve their issues publicly.

“Corruption started long time ago when it was called ‘ karafu’ , thus the need by both the national and county governments to device ways and means of containing it, instead of wrestling their muscles in public,” he said.

On security, Wabukala urged the government to include all stakeholders to ensure security to all citizens in the country.

Echoing his sentiments, Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong said that the government was not doing enough to fight corruption, adding that the resignation of Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) officials, including chair Mumo Matemu, is a plan to make the cases fade away.

Ojaamong called on the opposition, churches and civil societies to ensure EACC is reinforced so as to restore order in the commission.
