‘Wacha Vipindiree!’: Duale, Murkomen rubbish Governor Mutua’s threat claims
National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale and Senator Kipchumba Murkomen have dismissed claims by Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua that they have issued threats against his life.
Governor Mutua, earlier on Monday, claimed that his life was in danger following threats from Deputy President William Ruto, Duale and Murkomen.
Addressing the press at Kilimani Police Station after recording a statement on the alleged threats, Mutua said that Duale and Murkomen threatened to “teach him a lesson” for attacking DP Ruto.
“They told me that I have a habit of attacking them. When I asked them how they told me ‘we will teach you a lesson because you have been attacking Deputy President William Ruto,’” said Mutua.
According to the governor, the threats were made on November 25, 2019 at State House Nairobi.
In a quick rejoinder, Duale and Murkomen termed the claims by Mutua as Vipindiree (theatrics), adding that the Machakos Governor was trying to seek attention through the outrageous allegations.
“Mr. Mutua is writing another episode of his cobra squad series. Having failed spectacularly as a leader he turned himself into a Joseph Goebbels of his county government. He is of no consequence to anyone to deserve any attention let alone threats. Let’s just watch the cinematic vipindiree,” said Murkomen in a tweet.
On his part, Duale said: “Governor Alfred Mutua is at it again seeking attention with the most fictitious allegations that can only fit in his failed Cobra Squad TV show. You will not gain relevance by shouting the names of leaders who have achieved more than he can ever do. Focus on Machakos, Mutua.”
“The truth is, attention seekers are looking for validation. They want to know they are worthy. “You can’t use our names to increase your dwindling political shares in the village. We play a different league. Wacha vindiyo, cinema na vipenderee,” added Duale.
The deputy president is yet to respond to Mutua’s allegations.
The Machakos Governor claims that on December 11, 2019 during a banquet in honor of Barbados Prime Minister Mia Motley at State House, DP Ruto told him, “you fellow, you have been attacking me so much… I must now crush you… I will crush you.”
“I believe that William Ruto is serious and capable of carrying out his threat to my life and general welfare,” said Mutua.
