Waiguru out to sabotage Jubilee coalition Moses Kuria

Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has berated former Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru over her recently sworn affidavit implicating key members of the Jubilee coalition in the loss of Ksh 791 million at the National Youth Service (NYS).

Kuria scolded at Waiguru over her pronouncements saying the move was aimed at dividing Jubilee coalition along party lines.

He said by linking Deputy President’s aide Farouk Kibet, Garissa Township MP Aden Duale, Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen and National Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich to the the theft, Waiguru sought to alienate some members of the coalition; a move he said will not succeed.

Notably, all those mentioned in Waiguru’s affidavit released on Tuesday belong to DP Ruto’s URP party, a key partner of the Jubilee coalition which also has President Uhuru Kenyatta’s TNA and other affiliate parties.

Speaking at Gatundu on Wednesday, Kuria told Waiguru to carry her own cross noting that his defence of her conduct has landed him in court.

“When I defended NYS, I was fixed and taken to court while Waiguru was Cabinet Secretary. Despite all that we held a meeting with Waiguru and Jubilee legislators to find a way out. Why didn’t she name those allegedly involved in the scandal then?” He questioned.

Waiguru’s allegations have sparked a political row within Jubilee with Duale and Murkomen terming it as a plot to divide the coalition.

The two legislators have distanced themselves from the claims cautioning the former Devolution CS against using them as human shields in the onslaught against corruption.
