Waiguru visits Kalonzo, condoles with him over father’s death
Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru on Tuesday condoled with Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka following the demise of his father the late Peter Musyoka Mairu.
Waiguru visited Mr. Musyoka at his Karen home in Nairobi alongside Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria, nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura, Runyenjes MP Cecily Mbarire, former legislator Wavinya Ndeti among others.
“In the spirit of brotherhood, I spent the afternoon today condoling with my brother and Leader of the Wiper party, His Excellency Hon. Steven Kalonzo following the demise of his father. Fathers are anchors whose absence is felt deeply. We had a delightful afternoon of fellowship,” said Waiguru after the visit.
Mr. Mairu died on Saturday night at Nairobi Hospital where he was undergoing treatment. He was 94.
Mzee Mairu is set to be buried on Friday, November 9, 2018 at his rural home in Tseikuru, Mwingi North, Kitui County.
President Uhuru Kenyatta, Opposition chief Raila Odinga among other top leaders are expected to attend the ceremony.
