Waititu Rubbishes Voter Bribery Claims

Waititu – who was addressing the press at the Wangige Primary school, which is the tallying center for the Kabete Parliamentary by-elections – said that voter bribery was not part of his agenda and that his opponents should accept the results and avoid blame games.

He said that those alleging voter manipulation should produce evidence to show what transpired.

Waititu noted that his opponents were aware that they were losing and thus the reason for leveling such claims.

“My opponents are afraid of losing the election. They know that I have already won this thing and that is why they are making a lot of unnecessary noise,” said Waititu.

Waititu is among the nine candidates in the mini poll that was occasioned by the murder of the area MP George Muchai on February 7th, 2015.

His sentiments came just an hour after four MPs including John Wamagata of SAFINA party, Paul Karikuki Wandera of the Progressive Party of Kenya, Kavore Kariuki of Narc Kenya and Isaiah Ndirangu of the Party of Democratic Unity accused him of bribing and intimidating voters.
