Wambora’s Impeachment Case Referred To Nairobi

This is after Embu High Court Judges Cecilia Githua, Hedwig Ong’udi and Boaz Olago withdrew from the case.

The judges also withdrew from a case filed by Embu voters seeking to bar the same impeachment motion from being discussed by senators.

The judges argued that they were involved in hearing and determining the previous impeachment case against Wambora and were asking that the Chief Justice Dr Willy Mutunga form another bench to deal with the case.

The high court had earlier on reinstated Martin Wambora as the governor of Embu in a ruling that found the senate and the county assembly of Embu to have acted in violation of court orders that had been issued to bar the process of his impeachment.

Wambora had been accused of among others, abuse of office and massive misappropriation of public funds.
