Wamboras Impeachment Halted Again
The impeachment which was carried out by the Senate as well as the Embu County Assembly has been halted by Justice Richard Mwongo until a suit filed by Wambora earlier this morning is determined.
The Senate approved Wambora’s impeachment on Tuesday after Embu Members of the County Assembly impeached him over alleged malpractices.
Thirty five senators voted for his ouster claiming he was guilty of the allegations raised against him by the Embu County Assembly.
Gideon Moi was the only Senator who voted against his ouster.
Wambora and his lawyer chose to be absent during the public hearing by the Senate
Wambora’s impeachment came a day after the High Court dismissed an application filed by him to stop the Senate from discussing his ouster motion.
While delivering the ruling, Justice Richard Mwongo said that Wambora‘s application did not provide sufficient grounds upon which the orders could be granted.
