Wandayi: ODM unlikely to work with DP Ruto ahead of 2022 polls

ODM party’s Secretary for political affairs James Opiyo Wandayi now says that it will not be easy for them to work with Deputy President William Ruto in next year’s general elections.

He argues that even though ODM is currently talking to various political parties on possible political alliances, there is no possibility of them working with Ruto because they have a common interest.

Wandayi says that they welcome anybody who is ready to support ODM leader Raila Odinga’s presidential candidature which in Ruto’s case cannot easily happen because the line is already drawn that he cannot go for something less than that same seat.

The Ugunja MP who spoke during the breakfast show -Ramogi Baraza- on Radio Ramogi, stated that even though ODM leader Raila Odinga has not yet come out strongly to declare his candidature, he is their preferred candidate for Kenya’s top job.

He stated that as Mr. Odinga’s supporters, they will insist that he must vie for the top leadership of this country come 2022 Gneral Election whether he wants to or not.

Wandayi also expressed optimism that Mr. Odinga will win the next election to become the fifth president.

He called on the youths to acquire identity cards and register as voters right on time so that they may be able to make the right choice of their leaders come 2022 general elections.
