Warrant Of Arrest Against Journalist Lifted

The journalist who is accused of killing NTV journalist Wambui Kabiru failed to appear before court for the mention of the case prompting the court to issue the warrant of arrest.

High Court Judge Rosemary Korir lifted the warrant of arrest after Dola’s lawyer explained there was confusion regarding the dates he was to appear in court.

Justice Korir was satisfied with the explanation given and consequently lifted the warrant of arrest against Dola.

Dola is however expected to report to the Deputy Registrar of the High Court every month as a condition set by the Judge.

The case will be heard on the 10th of February 2014.

Dola allegedly committed the offence on May 1, 2011 at their Umoja Estate home in Nairobi.

Wambui’s body was discovered by neighbours on their bed.

Dola went into hiding after the killing but turned himself in at the Naivasha Police Station three days later.
