Warrant of arrest issued against ex- Kisumu County Speaker Onyango Oloo

A Nairobi court has issued a warrant of arrest for ex- Kisumu County Speaker Onyango Oloo after he failed to appear in a Ksh4.1m Lake Basin Development Authority mall fraud case.

Mr. Oloo has been ordered to appear in court on May 3 and will be facing eleven new charges in the amended charge sheet filed in court by the office of the DPP.

Meanwhile, charges against 14 accused persons who had been charged in connection with the case have been dropped.

The court was told that the 14 will appear in court as state witnesses.

The cost of the mall was inflated from an initial figure of Ksh2.5 billion to Ksh4.1 billion, according to the public prosecutor, in violation of procurement laws and the Anti-Corruption and Economic Crimes Act.
