Warring parties behind Jubilee’s bungled elections to pay damages – Tuju

Jubilee Party has spelled tough measures to curb chaos during the selection of party elections board members as well as during the forthcoming party primaries.

The party has been triggered into action following ugly scuffles witnessed in several counties in Central Kenya including; Kirinyaga, Kiambu, Murang’a, and Nakuru Counties.

Party Secretary General Raphael Tuju has warned members against causing mayhem saying aspirants found culpable will be barred from running on the party ticket.

Tuju said the party is investigating fracas in Kirinyaga and Murang’a counties, adding that warring parties will be held liable for property damaged.

He further cautioned members against invoking the president and his deputy’s names to intimidate competitors.

The Party Secretary General noted that some aspirants ferried goons into the election venues, saying the practices will not be condoned.

On the issue of Smart Cards, Tuju said that the National Elections Board (NEB) will conduct trials in the counties and give direction on whether to use them or not.
