Watched EMPIRE? Series Gets Highest Fox Rating

Empire is officially defying all television viewership odds, having risen steadily in the ratings for the seventh week in a row.

Empire has risen an impressive 39 percent in the ratings since its series premiere back in January, meaning it has now grown more than any other broadcast drama since House M.D. in 2004.

The series drama has earned a 5.3 rating in the coveted 18-49 demo, with a record-breaking 13.75 million viewers. That rating was up one tenth from last week’s 5.2, and it’s expected to rise even more when additional results are factored in.

What’s more? Season 1, Episode 8: “The Lyon’s Roar” was the most watched, despite being up against some pretty stiff competition. The folks at Vulture also note that Episode 8 is the highest-rated regularly scheduled episode of any broadcast network drama since Grey’s Anatomy in September 2010.

Empire now ties ABC’s How to Get Away with Murder as the highest-rated new show premiere this season.

The finale is slated for March 18th, 2015. We don’t want the drama to end!
