Watchman who was allegedly kidnapped by Kericho church thieves finds way home

A watchman who had gone missing after allegedly being abducted in Kericho has been found.

The guard whose identity is yet to be revealed, was reported missing from Chepkurbet Africa Gospel Church in Kapsoit Ward, Ainamoi sub county on Thursday.

The church had been broken into by unknown assailants who apparently abducted him and stole kitchenware.

According to Chepkurbet sub location Assistant Chief Thomas Korir, the watchman claimed that the assailants put him inside a Probox vehicle which they fled in.

He further alleged that they dumped him after tying him up in a thicket in Kapsorok area, Sigowet/Soin sub county.

He reportedly found his way back home on Thursday night safe and sound.

The chief said that a meeting was held between the watchman and the area church officials before the man was taken to Nyagacho police post to allow for investigations.

He further appealed to the area residents to be vigilant and report any suspicious people.
