Water Conservation Project In Tana River

The water conservation  project done by the Water Service Trust Fund and M-TAP Danida will benefit  more than 500 thousand people from the area.

Speaking during the official opening,  Madogo chief Harun Kunyo said that the dam will go a long way in reducing conflict between farmers and pastoralist from the area who have for long time fought over resources like water.

Speaking at the same function, Mogo Ali , the treasury of MWRUA said that the project will largely benefit the residents adding that it was long overdue.

Ali further pointed out that the project will stop the loss of life following attacks by crocodiles while fetching water from River Tana as well as ease the burden of the residents of walking ong disrtances in search of water.

The project was implemented by Madogo Water Resource Users Association at a cost of Ksh 2 million.
