Water CS, Eugene Wamalwa, defends Itare Dam Project

The government now says CORD leader Raila Odinga was personally involved in the conceptualisation and launch of the Mau water project. In a script that has loud echoes of accusations and counter accusations witnessed in the Murang’a Underground Water Project, water cabinet secretary accuses Odinga who yesterday described the 33 billion project as secretive and environmentally disastrous of playing politics. The government also insists the project will not cause the drying up of rivers in the surrounding ecosystem as Odinga had claimed.
