Leaders applaud Wetangula move to reject Senate seat

Kakamega County assembly members have said they support the decision by Moses Wetangula to reject any offer to take back the Senate minority leader seat.

Led by Mr. Brian Mafuga (Likuyani ) from the FORD Kenya party, the leaders reiterated calls for the Western region to form one strong political party.

They urged Musalia Mudavadi of the Amani National Congress (ANC) to join them in preparing for the 2022 General Election.

The MCAs faulted ODM leaders saying they had caused a division of voters in western Kenya by firing Wetangula.

The Ford Kenya party leader was ousted from the position after Senators from the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) voted against him.

Mr. Wetangula has since told Opposition leader Raila Odinga that “he can keep the position”.
