We are ready to work with opposition Ruto

Deputy President William Ruto has said that the Jubilee administration is ready to work with all leaders irrespective of their ethnic and political affiliations.

Ruto said that political leaders should put the interests of Kenyans above their personal interests and take a common stand on national issues.

“We should put aside our political differences and take a common stand on issues of development because we were elected to serve the people,” he said.

The deputy president further noted that plans to bring together all political parties affiliated to the Jubilee Coalition under the Jubilee Alliance Party (JAP) are aimed at forming a strong party ahead of the 2017 elections.

“We want to discourage divisions in our party. This is why we want all affiliate parties working with us to come together under JAP,” he said.

Members of Parliament who had accompanied Ruto told off the opposition over threats to boycott the next General Election saying they are afraid of defeat in the next elections.

Ruto, who also opened Kianyaga Motorbikes Sacco, added that the government would continue to initiate development projects aimed at uniting all Kenyans.

“Jubilee is a government of all Kenyans and we will work with all for the benefit of this great nation,” said Mr Ruto.

He was speaking after attending a Sunday service at the Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK), Kianyaga Parish in Kirinyaga County.

Among the MPs present at the function include Governor Joseph Ndathi (Kirinyaga) and MPs Njogu Barua (Gichugi), Emmanuel Wangwe (Navakholo), Kisoi Munyao (Mbooni), Karani Wachira (Laikipia West), Stephen Ngare (Ndia), Gitari Gichogi (Kirinyaga Central and Benjamin Washiali (Mumias East).
