We dont need CORDs ICC evidence-Jubilee Leaders

Jubilee leaders from the Mount Kenya region have dismissed the Coalition for Reform and Democracy’s (CORD) move to testify at the International Criminal Court (ICC) in defense of Deputy President William Ruto stressing that they don’t  need CORD’s evidence.

Led by Senate Majority Leader Kindiki Kithure, they said that CORD’s plot to testify in defense of Ruto is politically instigated. He added that CORD is to blame for the DP’s woes at the ICC.

Kindiki said that from the beginning, the ICC cases against the 6 suspects named at The Hague were politically motivated. The Senator said that the same way Muthaura, Inspector Ali, Henry Koskei and Uhuru Kenyatta’s cases were terminated-Ruto and Joshua Sang’s cases would also collapse.

The Majority Leader cautioned CORD against seeking cheap publicity saying that the opposition does not understand the dynamics of Jubilee.

MP Cecily Mbarire echoed Kindiki’s statement terming the opposition’s evidence as irrelevant, but insisted that Raila Odinga should be the one testifying at The Hague-not his brother Oburu Odinga.

She also emphasized that it is too late for CORD to testify since they had over seven years do that, but they have run out of time. In the same breath, Mbarire said she is confident that Ruto will be the next president come 2022 irrespective of the ICC case.

Embu Senator Leny Kivuti urged the opposition to put their house in order first, and as they do that, they should stand aside and let Jubilee work.

Chuka Igamba Ng’ombe, MP Muthomi Njuki expressed support for Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria’s allegations that former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and former Justice Minister Martha Karua fixed the DP at the ICC.

The leaders were speaking in Runyenjes town, Embu County during the launch of the Kyeni-Karurumo road construction.
