We Don’t Support JAP, Says Narok North MP

Narok North Member of Parliament has taken issue with Jubilee Alliance Party (JAP) claiming that leaders from the Maasai community were not consulted in its formation.

Moitalel ole Kenta said that the Maasai community will not be lured to move to any party since they had been always left behind in development.

He stated that he is still in The National Alliance party (TNA) but was not aware of JAP.

"Those who were appointed to be leaders in JAP were not elected by anyone", said ole Kenta adding that many leaders including William Ole Ntimama were not consulted in the formation of the new party, despite being members of TNA.

NOT A WISE MOVE

He said that the community has been left out in development projects by the national government despite the zone being a breadbasket for the country.

The legislator was speaking in Nkokolani, Narok North where he opened various CDF projects.

Referering to the ongoing campaigns in Kajiado, the legislature said the Maasai community has always been used as a guinea pig in the political scenes.

The MP said the formation of JAP was aimed at 2022 general elections, which was not a wise move since the other 40 ethnic groups were interested in running for presidency.

He said the Maasai community was watching the country’s politics keenly, adding that they will not be taken for a ride as they also want a chance to lead.
