We will distribute food until drought is over – gov’t
The government is dedicated to supply relief food to all people affected by the ongoing drought in the country.
Speaking during a Relief Food Supply exercise at Mutuati Catholic Church in Igembe South, Defense Principal Secretary, Ambassador Kirimi Kaberia, said that the government will continue to distribute relief food to Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASAL) until the drought is over.
He also encouraged the resident to register as voters so that they can vote in the August 8 General Election.
“But besides that, to also encourage people to exercise their right by registering as voters so that they may have an opportunity to participate in the very important civic duty of voting in August,” said the PS.
On his part, Meru County Commissioner, Wilfred Nyagwanga, assured the people of Meru that the food will be distributed to them fairly, especially to those who are most affected and the poor.
