We Will Not Bomb You, Iran To World Powers Over Nuclear Fear

The talks are meant to reach a preliminary agreement by the six world powers on whether the middle east country should be put on alert over its continued production of nuclear weapons.

Foreign ministers from this countries have been negotiating in Switzerland ahead of a self-imposed deadline.

The US Secretary of State John Kerry said talks on Monday had produced some light but tricky issues remained.

They now want to restrict Iran's nuclear programme in exchange for relief from crippling sanctions.

However, Iran insists that its nuclear programme is for peaceful purposes.

The world powers are worried about the nuclear weapons making them want to bar Iran from producing the weapon for a year.

 

Marathon negotiations giving hope

The world powers include the US, UK, France, China, Russia and Germany.

Present in the meeting are Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and EU foreign policy Chief Federica Mogherini.

"There had been a little more light on Monday, but there are still some tricky issues. Everyone knows the meaning of tomorrow," said Mr. Kerry.

on Monday, China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that the marathon-like negotiations had entered the final stage and that he was cautiously optimistic.

"The differences between the parties are narrowing," he said.

Israel said that the deal being negotiated was worse than it feared.

"I expressed our deep concern towards this deal emerging with Iran in the nuclear talks, this deal as it appears to be emerging bears out all of our fears, and even more than that," said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. 

Israel and the US insist Iran is seeking to build a nuclear bomb, but Iran says its nuclear programme is intended for power generation.
