We will offer quality, free primary and secondary education – NASA

The National Super Alliance (NASA) pledged Thursday, May 24 to prioritize fully free primary and secondary education once elected on August 8, 2017, in a bid for all children in the country, poor and rich, to access education.

NASA leaders, who were in Isiolo County to popularize their pact as well as campaign for the newly crowned opposition flag bearer, Raila Odinga, slammed President Uhuru Kenyatta-led administration of failing to provide an entirely free secondary education especially for children in marginalized communities, with co-principal Moses Wetangula accusing government of massive corruption leading to loss of funds that could cater for education for all.

“NASA government will ensure access to education for all children. The amount of money the likes of Jubilee leaders are stealing is so much that it can fund free primary and secondary education for every child in Kenya without parents even contributing a single cent,” said Wetangula.

Hosted by ODM’s Adan Kabelo, NASA leaders lamented that the government hypocrisy of providing maximum security details to tourists in the county, yet it has failed to offer the same to the truly deserved Isiolo residents and Kenyans at large, basing their fact on the constant banditry attacks witnessed in the Northern frontier.

“Every Kenyan, including you in Isiolo, has freedom to movement and entitled to maximum security, but the Jubilee government has failed to provide security to its citizens,” said Siaya Senator, James Orengo.

The newly-crowned Chairperson of the Council of Governors (CoG) and Turkana Governor, Josphat Nanok, accused Jubilee of neglecting the pastoral communities and not initiating any meaningful project that will help them. He urged Isiolo residents to vote for NASA come August 8 elections as it has a national outlook to empower even the marginalized communities in Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASAL) counties.

“If I am in NASA, be sure that a NASA government will cater for all Kenyans and not two communities. We were hit by drought in 13 pastoral counties but they, government, horded maize and bring Kenya to a crisis. Now they have come up with Ksh 90 unga, but I assure you it will not reach this area,” said Nanok.
