Well not condone violent politicians ODM officials
Migori County Orange Democratic Party (ODM) officials have issued a warning to those eyeing the Central Kanyamkago ward seat, saying they will not give party ticket to a violent leader.
County ODM party Secretary General Mr. Joseph Olala said the party will not condone such disruptive behavior in the ward by-election as well as the 2017 General Election, adding that the party will take disciplinary action against members who shall be found sponsoring violence during the campaign period.
These remarks come just a day after an aspirant for the Central Kanyamakago seat caused commotion at the burial of the late MCA, Michael Osongo. The aspiring county legislator demanded to be given an opportunity to address mourners, even though aspirants were only given asked to wave to the public.
During the burial, Migori County Assembly Majority Leader Joe Gucha said MCAs will ensure that one of the late legislator’s sons takes the seat.
Even though the seat is yet to be officially declared vacant, some aspirants had already started campaigning to the post.
