We’ll not dissolve to join Jubilee Party, Democratic Party vows

The Democratic Party of Kenya (DP) will not dissolve to join the yet to be launched Jubilee Party, but will instead field candidates in all other levels except the Presidency.

Party Secretary General Jacob Haji has said that the party will compete with all the others in the country to ensure they garner most of the seats in the country.

Haji said that the 22-year-old political party has re-launched and is geared towards ensuring that it regains its’ lost glory, particularly in the Mt Kenya region where it was deep rooted.

He said that DP has strengthened its policies to be able to compete with all the other political parties – including Jubilee Party.

Party Chairman Esau Kioni said that a time has come for Kenyans to support the party since it was is the second oldest Party in the country after KANU, arguing that it has proved to be strong unlike the others which are just being formed to gain political power then die.

He said that the party will ensure there is free and fair nominations among all elective posts; he said that there should not be fear of rigging as only the winning candidates will get the nomination certificates.

On his Part, Party Vice Chairman Peter Ndubai has welcomed all the candidates who are not comfortable with the nominations strategies of the yet to be launched Jubilee Party.

Ndubai said that those who are not comfortable should move out of Jubilee early before the nominations, adding that the party will provide a soft and fair landing for all those who will join it in time.

County Branch Chairman Njagi Kumantha said they will accommodate anybody who wants to vie for a political seat next year without discrimination in order to help the people get better leaders.
