Arsenal host their FA Cup conquerors Watford on Saturday (April 2) and manager Arsene Wenger says his side is still in with a chance of winning the Premier League.

The Gunners are third with 55 points, but a game in hand, behind leaders Leicester on 66 and Spurs with 61. Manchester City are fourth with 51 points and West Ham and Manchester United are both on 50, but the Hammers have a better goal difference; all four have also played 30 games to the leaders’ 31.

Wenger acknowledged Leicester’s “very strong” position, but said he was focussing on his side performing well for the rest of the season.

Next opponents Watford are 14th in the league with 37 points from 30 matches and Wenger described them as an “efficient” team.

As well as the FA Cup loss to Watford, Arsenal were knocked out of the Champions League by Barcelona.
