Wetangula: Jubilee government not inclusive of all communities

Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula on Saturday launched a scathing attack on the Jubilee administration, saying that President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto have perfected what he termed as ‘the art of exclusive politics’.

Speaking in Tongaren, Bungoma County the National Super Alliance (NASA) co-principal accused President Kenyatta and DP Ruto of failing to consider the country’s regional and ethnic diversity while constituting the 2013 cabinet.

“President Kenyatta and Ruto have taken over the government completely. Most of the ministers and permanent secretaries are from only two of the 42 communities in Kenya,” said the Ford Kenya Party leader.

This comes even as President Kenyatta is yet to name his new Cabinet after he was sworn-in on November 28, 2017. Political pundits have argued that President Kenyatta and his deputy will be making Cabinet appointments using a tactic intended to completely scuttle the opposition coalition, with 2022 succession politics already shaping up.

Wetangula, however, insisted that NASA’s plan to swear-in Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka as ‘people’s president and vice president’ respectively is still intact, alleging that the former prime minister won the August 8 election.

He was speaking at the burial ceremony of father to Bungoma Deputy Governor Charles Ngome.
