Wetangula lauds Sonkos war on graft

Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula has praised Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko’s effort of fight graft in the country’s Capital.

The senator, who paid a courtesy call on the governor on Wednesday morning, said that Nairobi is leading by example on the war on graft.

Wetangula’s visit came barely a day after former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka’s trip to City Hall.

The NASA co-principal said Sonko worked well when he was the senator and united Kenyans from all walks of life.

“This is my maiden visit since you were elected governor. You have done a lot especially in uniting Kenyans. When you were a senator, we used to work so closely. Nairobi is the ‘eye’ of Kenya,” said Wetangula.

Governor Sonko said he was committed to serving all Nairobians, adding that he would not be cowed by cartels.

Sonko said his administration is working closely with other partners in developing the city.

“Even if they work round the clock to overturn my leadership, they won’t succeed. I’m the anointed one. Those who were involved in swindling the tax-payers’ money will face the full wrath of the law,” said Sonko.
