Wetangula-Mudavadi unity plan is desperate says NASA MP

ANC Nominated Member of Parliament Godfrey Osotsi has hit out at NASA co-principals Musalia Mudavadi and Ford-Kenya leader Moses Wetangula over the planned merger of their two parties.

Mr. Osotsi termed the move as desperate, adding that it would only confuse the Luhya community ahead of the 2022 General Election.

“We have been suffering because of poor leadership. After every election our leaders start calling for Luhya unity but during the election everyone goes his own direction,” said Osotsi.

The nominated MP was speaking during Easter celebrations where he toured four churches at Musalia Mudavadi’s village of Sabatia.

Mr. Osotsi asked Mudavadi and Wetangula to reconcile with ODM leader Raila Odinga since their political survival hangs on the opposition leader’s coat.

He said Luhya unity should involve all other parties in the region and not just Wetangula’s Ford Kenya and Mudavadi’s ANC.

There have been active sentiments of realignment in the Western Kenya block and talks of a merger of FORD-Kenya and ANC Parties which are NASA affiliate parties.

Since President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga held unity talks three weeks ago, the three other NASA affiliate parties were thrown back to the drawing board with their differences playing out in public.
