What to do if your KRA PIN has been suspended
The taxman suspended personal identification numbers ((PINS) for many Kenyans at the beginning of this month in move to smoke out tax cheats.
However, many of the affected Kenyans are not tax cheats. If your PIN has been suspended, there is a way to find out why.
There is no need to panic, below are the three reasons for suspension:
1. You may have never filed VAT returns but you have a VAT obligation
2. You may be trading with your PIN but it is not updated on iTax
3. You have been declared as a supplier by a VAT registered taxpayer but you are not registered for VAT obligation
