Who will head Governors’ Committees after poll?

Apart from the chairperson, the council will also install committee’s chairs.

COG has 17 committees head by various governors.

The committees and their respective outgoing chairs are as follows:

Rules and Business – Isaac Ruto, Bomet

Energy, Roads and Transport – Joseph Mandago, Uasin Gishu

Finance, Commerce and Economic Affairs – Ahmed Abdullahi Mohamed, Wajir

Education and ICT – Cleophas Langat, Nandi

Legal Affairs and Human Rights – Peter Munya, Meru

Human Resources, Labour and Social Welfare – James Ongwae, Kisii

Health and Biotechnology – Jack Ranguma, Kisumu

Agriculture and Land – Nderitu Gachagua, Nyeri

Water, Mining and Natural Resources – Joshua Irungu, Laikipia

Foreign Affairs – Ambassador Ukur Yatani, Marsabit

Security – Hussein Dado, Tana River

Arid and Semi-Arid Lands –  Cpt. Ali Roba, Mandera

Trade and Investment – Wycliffe Oparanya, Kakamega

Media, Liaison and Communication Committee – Dr. Alfred Mutua, Machakos

Urban Development Committee – Dr. Julius Malombe, Kitui

Political Caucus Committee – Moses Akaranga, Vihiga

Resource Mobilization Committee – Salim Mvurya, Kwale
