Why Raila blames Jubilee for insecurity in Kenya

Coalition for Reform and Democracy (Cord) leader Raila Odinga has accused the Jubilee Government of failing to contain rising security in the country.

The opposition leader says under President Uhuru Kenyatta’s tenure terrorists have become more brazen in their attacks against the country. The situation, according to Raila, was worsened by the government’s ignorance of intelligence information.

The former Prime Minister added that rampant graft in government institutions, including security agencies, have left the county more vulnerable to Al Shabaab attacks.

Raila has further faulted mishandling and profiling of Kenyan Somali and Muslim communities, civil society and media which he says has alienated communities and divided the country in the terror fight.

Raila accused the Jubilee government of mishandling Kenyans of Somali origin, Muslims, the civil society and the media fraternity. Adding that these actions have served to further alienate marginalized communities, Raila urged President Kenyatta to visit the coast and northern Kenya.
