Wife burns Ksh.750k home in Kirinyaga after dramatic argument with husband

Hell hath no fury than a woman scorned took a literal turn after a 29-year-old woman set her family home ablaze after arguing with her husband in Kirinyaga.

The Friday afternoon incident saw property worth at least Ksh.750k go up in flames with James Mwangi, the woman’s husband saying he was away during the incident.

“I had decided to go to Kimunye trading centre after a bitter argument with my wife Caroline Nyakio, she hurled very bitter words at me,but I was very shocked after I was called my neigbours that my house was on fire,” Mwangi explained.

Mwangi who said no one was hurt during the incident said he has since received reports that his wife had bought petrol at a local filling station.

Gichugu sub-county Police commander Anthony Mbogo condemned the act and said that police officers were pursuing the suspect who is at large.
