Woman, 2 kids strangled inside a shop in Karatina, one suspect arrested
A middle-aged woman and two children were on Thursday strangled to death by an unknown people inside a shop at Jambo Village in Karatina.
Witnesses who spoke to Inooro TV said the woman had opened her shop on Thursday morning as usual and was seated outside her shop at around 11am.
She was in the company of her child.
She would later be found dead inside the shop by her sister who had sent her child to buy cooking flour.
When she realized that her son had taken unusually long, she went to the shop where she found the doors ajar, and the three dead.
Nyeri Police Commander Adiel Nyange confirmed the incident saying police officers have begun probe into the matter.
He urged residents to seek alternative dispute resolutions instead of taking matters into their own hands.
At the same time, he appealed to members of the public to volunteer information that may lead to the arrest of the suspects.
Citizen Digital understands that one suspect has since been arrested and is in police custody, assisting with the ongoing probe.
