Woman arrested after beating husband outside club in Kericho

A woman was arrested after beating her husband at Brooke Trading Center in the outskirts of Kericho town.

According to the area residents, the woman had allegedly fled her home and left the children behind with their father for several days.

“Her husband found her at a  local club at the center drinking and having fun with her friends, ” one resident said.

“She was sandwiched in between other male revellers and he got angry and confronted her before dragging her outside,” he added.

The duo began exchanging insults and exposing their private matters as the husband got more displeased and started raining blows and kicks on her.

However, the woman could not take it anymore and turned against her husband, overpowering him and giving him thorough beating before sitting and standing on him.

Members of the public intervened and separated the duo before taking the woman to Brooke Police Station.

The man sustained injuries on various parts of his body and was left nursing his injuries while cursing his wife.

The woman is also alleged to have rented a house in the trading center where she had been living since she moving out of her matrimonial home.

It was not clear which charges the police would prefer to the woman.

Cases of husband thrashing is on the rise in the county with various men calling for protection from their angry wives.
