Woman arrested after selling her newborn baby for Ksh.1,000
Tina Mulinge, woman who bought a baby for Ksh.1,000, following her arrest. The woman who sold the baby was also arrested.

Just how much is a baby worth? Well, it appears not that much!

For just Ksh.1,000, Tina Mulinge allegedly acquired a newborn baby from Winnie Rose Mumbe in Kitui.

Police officers in Machakos are presently holding the two women over the offence that allegedly occurred three months ago.

Tina Mulinge reportedly went missing for 9 months only to return to her husband and lie that she miraculously gave birth.

The couple has since then been living with the baby as their own until Mulinge’s arrest on Wednesday.

The arrest came after nurses at Machakos Level 5 hospital where she had taken the baby for a clinic check raised alarm.

Police officers are also interrogating the accused to determine whether a 5-year old who was in her company is her daughter as she alleges.
