Woman arrested in connection to murder of KWS officer

A woman has been arrested in Trans Mara West, Narok County in connection to the murder of a Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) officer at a pub on Saturday night.

The woman, identified as Jackline Narashi is said to be part of the gang that attacked the premises leaving the officer dead and three others nursing gunshot wounds.

Confirming the incident Trans Mara West Deputy Commissioner Mohammed Hassan Noor downplayed allegations that the shooting was as a result of tribal clashes.

“The incident should not be seen as a clash between people of different tribes. This was just a case of robbery with violence,” said Noor. “Security has been tightened and the culprits will be brought to justice.”

Noor also urged area residents to cooperate with police in ensuring that all suspects involved in the shooting are swiftly brought to justice.
