Woman Arrested for Killing Step-Son in Kakamega

Neighbours claim that the boy, believed to have been HIV positive, passed on this morning following a beating by his step mother after he began vomiting last night.

They further claim that the boy, who was ailing, had been denied food, a decent place to sleep, medication and at times forced to take an overdose of the ARV pills.

They suspect the beatings are likely to have contributed to his demise because his body was found oozing blood from the nose this morning.

The woman has since been arrested and is being held at Kakamega Police Station.

The body of the boy was taken to the Kakamega County Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
