Police have said a househelp in Kisumu is the key suspect in the murder of a woman and her three-month old baby.

Speaking to Radio Ramogi on Friday morning, Kamau confirmed that Elizabeth Ojwang, 25, was strangled using a nylon rope.

He added that her baby was chocked to death.

The incident happened in Shauri Yako estate, Koru location in Muhoroni Sub County.

County Commander John Kamau said they have launched a manhunt for the suspect.

He urged members of the public who have information that could lead to her arrest to liaise with local police.

According to a police report seen by Radio Ramogi, the body of the two victims were discovered in a pool of blood inside the house.

Concerned neighbors said they decided to break into the home on Thursday at 8pm after noticing it had remained locked the entire day, which was unusual.
